Estenas Bobal, 2018

Sweet cranberry, rhubarb, nutmeg, spice, blackberries, touch of charred orange.  Savory berries, Mediterreanean vibe, very structured medium palate; tart currant and baking spices on a firm finish.  Bobal is the third most planted grape variety in all of Spain, but there are a handful of producers that have taken the Bobal grape, and elevated it to new experiences.  Established in 1945, Vera de Estenas is producing wines from Bobal "en vaso" trained vines averaging 50 years old, some up to 100 years old.  Fermented in concrete, aged in mix of concrete and used American barrels.  Organic farming.
